This interactive safety training equips construction professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to identify fall hazards, properly utilize fall protection equipment, and apply OSHA-aligned safety practices. Project Challenge
Conversations with individuals working in the construction industry highlighted ongoing challenges with fall hazards, inconsistent safety practices, and varying levels of worker experience. Using these insights, I designed a concept training solution focused on reinforcing OSHA-compliant procedures, improving hazard recognition, and encouraging safer decision-making in high-risk environments.

Secondary Audience: New hires in the construction industry, subcontractors, and construction company management.
This interactive e-learning course was designed to help construction professionals recognize fall hazards, apply OSHA-aligned safety practices, and make informed decisions in high-risk work environments. Through realistic job-site scenarios, interactive activities, and knowledge checks, learners develop the skills and confidence to identify hazards, use fall protection equipment properly, and contribute to a safer workplace culture. This project reflects my approach to designing learning experiences that are both instructionally sound and meaningful to learners.
Why did I use scenario-based learning?
Construction workers make critical safety decisions in fast-paced environments where recognizing hazards quickly can prevent serious injuries. I incorporated realistic workplace scenarios to allow learners to practice identifying fall hazards, evaluating risks, and making safe decisions in a risk-free environment. This approach promotes critical thinking and helps learners transfer knowledge to real-world job sites.
Why did I choose microlearning?
Construction professionals often have limited time available for training. I designed the course as a concise learning experience that delivers essential safety information in manageable segments. Short, focused modules improve learner engagement, reduce cognitive overload, and make it easier to review key concepts when needed.
Why did I provide immediate feedback?
Knowledge checks include immediate feedback so learners understand not only whether their answer is correct, but why. Reinforcing correct behaviors and explaining common mistakes helps strengthen understanding, correct misconceptions, and increase confidence before learners encounter similar situations on the job.
Why did I incorporate accessibility features?
Safety training should be accessible to every learner. I incorporated accessibility best practices, including keyboard navigation, closed captions, clear navigation, readable typography, color contrast, and alternative text where appropriate. These features support learners with diverse needs while creating a more inclusive learning experience.
Why did I use interactive learning instead of a presentation?
Rather than presenting information through static slides, I designed interactive activities that require learners to actively engage with the content. Clicking, exploring, and making decisions encourage participation, increase attention, and improve knowledge retention compared to passive instruction.
Why did I align the course with OSHA standards?
The learning objectives, content, and assessments were designed around OSHA fall protection guidelines to ensure the course reflects recognized industry safety practices. Designed for construction workers and supervisors, this interactive microlearning module delivers OSHA-aligned safety practices that help learners recognize fall hazards, implement protective measures, and promote a culture of workplace safety.
