CLEAR TO COMMUNICATE™ is a bilingual, scenario-based learning solution designed to support commercial drivers in developing practical English communication skills for common workplace and roadside situations.

The project was developed in response to increased federal enforcement of existing English-language proficiency requirements for commercial motor vehicle drivers. Under federal driver qualification requirements, commercial drivers operating in interstate commerce must be able to read and speak English sufficiently to communicate, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and complete required reports and records.

Rather than approaching this requirement as a traditional English-language course, CLEAR TO COMMUNICATE™ focuses on the practical communication skills drivers may need in real workplace situations. The learning experience addresses essential vocabulary, roadside inspection communication, highway signs and safety instructions, driver documents, trip information, and emergency communication.

The complete learning solution combines microlearning videos, interactive eLearning, scenario-based practice, performance support tools, and virtual training options to provide learners with multiple opportunities to build confidence and apply communication skills in realistic workplace contexts.
